After a traumatic incident during residency, young medical student James Heyman (Namir Smallwood) is transferred to a rural hospital to start a new life. Noticing that James is struggling and having difficulty communicating with patients, Dr. Harrison (veteran theater and film actor Michael Potts) suggests he take a course on bedside manner and establishing deeper relationships with patients. The demons of James’ past begin to catch up with him when he finds himself consumed by the case of a young asthma patient (Sidney Flanigan, NEVER, RARELY, SOMETIMES, ALWAYS) who develops mysterious symptoms. His connection to reality begins to weaken as his disturbing nightmares, anxiety-fueled speculations, and physical trauma collide with the harsh reality of the medical world. Director Alex Thompson has assembled a strong cast of seasoned actors for his follow-up to SAINT FRANCISβand its predecessor, GHOST WORLDβin this unconventional, humanistic interpretation of the genre.
