Katie, a freelance video editor who desperately needs work, is offered a job by an anonymous employer to edit a mysterious and strange film. Short on funds and facing eviction, Katie eagerly accepts the job. The footage shows people being tortured and even killed – a carefully choreographed set-up, no doubt. But when the first job turns into an even more lucrative job and increasingly disturbingly realistic snuff films, Katie’s life begins to fall apart. Strange figures in her apartment, terrifying nightmares that keep her awake, and a mysterious illness afflicting her cat. It’s only when Katie finally decides to quit her job that she learns just how cruel her anonymous employer is and the diabolical steps she herself will take to get out of the deal.
